Commissions and Committees

The City Council relies on a number of citizen Commissions and Committees to serve as legislative advisory bodies to the Council.  These legislative bodies play an important role in the governance of our City and provide valuable input to the City Council. Each Commission/Committee is composed of local community members, and not only give private citizens the ability to participate in civic activities but also gives voice to specific issues that may not otherwise be addressed.

The City of Montebello encourages all citizens to participate in the various Commissions and Committees. Members of the community are appointed by the City Council to serve on these Commissions and Committees to provide greater community participation. The terms of office, qualifications, responsibilities, and meeting schedules vary for each.
