MONTEBELLO BUS LINES’ ALFREDO MACHUCA HONORED WITH AWARD OF EXCELLENCE FOR FIRST MILE/LAST MILE MASTER PLAN

Montebello Bus Lines is proud to announce that Transit Planner Alfredo Machuca received an Award of Excellence from the American Planning Association on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Montebello's First Mile/Last Mile (FMLM) Master Plan. The First Mile/Last Mile Master Plan bridges the gap between public transit and passengers' first and last-mile connections, making their entire commute safe and efficient. By integrating various transportation options, including biking, walking, and ridesharing, the plan aims to create a cohesive network that supports sustainable urban mobility.

In addition to this prestigious award, Montebello City Council recognized Alfredo at the City Council meeting on July 24, 2024. Mayor Scarlet Peralta praised Mr. Machuca for his dedication and innovative approach to addressing one of the most critical challenges in urban transportation. "Alfredo's work on the FMLM Master Plan is nothing short of transformative for our city," said Mayor Peralta. "His commitment to identifying traffic safety strategies reflects our shared vision of a safer and accessible community. This award is a well-deserved acknowledgment of his efforts."

Acting Director of Transportation John Soria also commended Machuca's achievements. "Alfredo has demonstrated exceptional leadership and creativity in developing the FMLM Master Plan," stated Acting Director Soria. "His work not only addresses the needs of our current transit users but also sets a foundation for future infrastructure development. We are incredibly proud of his accomplishments and look forward to implementing this plan to serve our community better."
