First Last Mile Plan

Welcome to the City of Montebello's First and Last Mile Project.

What is the First and Last Mile?

The distance to and from a transit stop between your origin and to your destination is referred to as the “first and last mile.” Transit users often rely on walking or using a wheelchair, riding a bike, using an e-scooter, or other forms of micro-mobility to access transit, but there are oftentimes barriers that make accessing transit less attractive, such as a busy intersection or lack of bike lanes.

About the First Mile Last Mile Masterplan

The City of Montebello is preparing a First Mile Last Mile Masterplan, the first of its kind, to help improve pedestrian and bicycle connections to and from transit stops. Examples include new bike lanes, increased shade and seating at transit stops, improved pedestrian crossings, and more! Improvements to calm traffic and create connections and access to transit stops can not only increase ridership volumes but make streets safer for all road users.

Download the project fact sheet to learn more and please give your input by completing the online survey linked below.

The project team needs your help!

The First Mile Last Mile Masterplan is currently in the fact-finding period. This includes an analysis of the existing pedestrian and bicycle networks and also hearing from you about your needs as they relate to the transportation network.

Click the link below to take a short survey to tell us what you like and what you do not.

The purpose of this survey is to help identify physical barriers that affect access to and from transit service in Montebello. The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.
